Pray for Boston.
Last night after a day spent inside a set filming with no service we were completely unaware of the tragedy that had just hit the US. When we came outside and turned our phones on we were in complete shock. “What’s going on in Boston?” As I kept reading my Twitter and Facebook feed I became more concerned. This one hit home as I’ve always been a big supporter of marathons since my father has been running them since he was a teen. He’s run all the major marathons LA, Chicago, New York, and of course Boston. He’s taught me to love the sport and admire all the runners who put themselves through all the amount of physical and mental preparation months and months prior to running those 26.2 miles. We always attend the Chicago Marathon, no matter if he runs or not. I’ve been a Chicago Marathon volunteer number of times and to think of all these innocent people who are finally close to crossing the finish line, pushing themselves harder and harder, and the next thing they know is that they will probably never run again because they’ve just lost a leg in the most horrifying way…There’s no words to describe it.
Who in the world would do such thing? Each time I watch the images I cry. Is this a terrorist attack? Is this another lunatic? In what world are we living in? We can no longer go to theaters to enjoy a movie, we can’t even send our kids to elementary schools without being concern.
For now, all we can do is pray for all the victims and pray for a better world, better people. When did we become so cold hearted? Why all this cruelty, why do we want to take each other out? What drives someone to commit such tragic acts? I hope they find all those responsible and I’m praying with all my heart for all the victims.
